gor Anatolyevich Aksyonov is a Soviet and Russian poster artist, graphic designer, and illustrator best known for his political posters of the 1980s. Working during the final decade of the Soviet Union, he produced hundreds of posters addressing international solidarity, peace, anti-war campaigns, and contemporary political events.

After military service, Aksyonov studied mathematics at Novosibirsk State University, where he became closely involved with the university's cultural life. Rather than pursuing a scientific career, he turned to graphic design and became the principal artist behind the university's Week of International Solidarity from 1976 to 1986, creating its posters, emblems, badges, and visual identity.

His first political poster was published in 1981, marking the beginning of a fifteen-year period during which he produced several hundred works. Aksyonov collaborated with the Soviet publishing house Plakat and created posters for organisations including Komsomolskaya Pravda, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and the XII World Festival of Youth and Students. His posters were exhibited throughout the Soviet Union and internationally, including in Czechoslovakia and Panama.

Aksyonov's work is known for its bold graphic compositions and symbolic imagery, often moving beyond the conventions of Soviet propaganda to address political and social issues through metaphor and visual association. His posters are held in the Novosibirsk State Museum of Local History and were also acquired by the Central Museum of the Revolution of the USSR.

Aksyonov received the Lenin Komsomol Prize for his contribution to the arts, the Medal of Honour of the World Peace Council, and the honorary medal Fighter for Peace from the Soviet Peace Committee. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, he left poster design and moved into commercial advertising, later working in New Zealand.
